| Thanks to Lark! Episode 10 ~ Convergence (continued) : Ian holds Irons' head steady while the doctor injects him near his eye. Irons screams in pain, and the doctor likens the drug to heroin, while Ian calls it the Fountain of Youth. The doctor muses if it stops working after a few doses, what good is it, and Nottingham threatens the doctor with the scalpel he took earlier. The doctor rebukes Ian, he ushered the younger man into the world, and Irons complains behind them, it's not working: he pulls out one of his own teeth easily, and laments about fresh blood. Ian nods and leaves. Sara calls Jake at the precinct, call Vicap, ask about killers who dress their victims as hookers, and Jake asks if she thinks this is a serial killer? She says she doesn't think he's going to stop, he'll kill again, soon, but Jake is unsure about using Vicap, they take a long time to respond. Sara yells at the rookie, use the congressman's influence. Jake asks Sara to meet him at his place at midnight. She says, "Maybe," and hangs up. Gabriel goes to meet Lars Bankstrom, he's done business with him before, the man is impressed with Gabriel's work ethic. Gabriel shows Bankstrom the bullet, and Bankstrom tells Gabriel the etching was done after the bullet was manufactured, a dangerous practice. He asks who is selling it, but Gabriel won't tell him: he asks the old man to not tell anyone he was there or about the bullet, and Bankstrom agrees. After Gabriel leaves, Bankstrom calls Dante. Sara comes to Jake's place early, searching his place, looking at pictures of him with family, with his dog, in a cowboy hat, as a surfer-dude. The blade is quiet, but she remembers different moments with him, meeting him, kissing him, hearing him say he trusts her, telling him she will trust him. Then the blade recalls interrogating Nottingham, and shows her how Jake became a White Bull. She opens a dresser drawer, and under a water pistol and other toys, she finds a .45 magnum bullet with an etched bull. Outside his apartment, Burgess and Orlinsky meet Jake. At the door, he is amiable and loud enough to be heard through the door: he feigns innocence, why are they there, he's not sure he's got enough cold beer, but come on in! Sara hears as Jake intended, and leaves through an upstairs window. Leading them in, Jake goes heads to the kitchen for beer, while Orlinsky and Burgess search his apartment for Sara. Jake brings them cold beer and they sit down. Jake storms into Dante's office: he's on the phone with the congressman, they'll be at Kate's funeral, and he plays up Jake being in charge of the investigation. When he hangs up, Jake is furious, why did Dante send the guys to his place, and Dante says it was to protect him, Sara had broken into his house, why not Jake's? Jake says Sara was there, he had her trusting him, he could have caught her, but Orlinsky and Burgess scared her off. Dante apologizes. In a very dreamlike sequence, Sara is beckoned into the Kate's viewing by the funeral director. She approaches the coffin sadly, and touches Kate's hand, asking the air who did this - and Kate opens her eyes, asking Sara to stop "the bad man." Danny also holds Kate's hand. Kate tells Sara she is the only one who can stop her killer, and Sara asks who did this to her? The girl looks behind Sara as a man says it's terrible. He introduces himself as Lee, Kate's departmental advisor from UNY, he shakes Sara"s hand, and she flashes, seeing him commit the rape. Shocked, she says, "You," and Lee realizes Sara knows who he is. He makes a hasty retreat, Sara is about to follow, but she and Dante see each other, and she runs out as Dante calls for backup. Out the back, Nottingham stops Sara, she asks if he saw Lee ahead of her, but he says he needs to serve his master, if she will come willingly, he can serve them both, if she won't come, one of them will die. Sara says it won't be her, and he confronts her with the scalpel. He slices her hand and squeezes blood onto a handkerchief, telling her, "I did it to save your life." Sara and Ian run different ways when Dante bursts through of the back door. Jake calls Sara as she runs, and she yells at him, he'd better be quick and his story had better be good. He tells her Dante gave him the bullets to kill her, and he asked for her help with the Kate Haviland to keep her in touch with him, she doesn't have to do anything for him anymore, and she says no, she has a lead, meet her in 20 minutes, and if he's not alone... Jake promises. Jake talks to Sara in an alley behind him, he says he didn't know about Orlinsky and Burgess the night before; she presses him about the bullet, and he says he was going to tell her, but she was too jumpy. The blade is silent, and Sara relents: he's really in deep, isn't he? He says he was recruited by Dante specifically to get to her. He wants to bring down the White Bulls, and she tells him she's got someone researching the bullets. He asks for the lead on the killer, she describes Lee; then Jake tells her Vicap gave him a killer who has hit several colleges, looking for innocent, virtuous girls: he kills three within ten days and then moves on. Sara flashes back to the study lounge, the girl was above suspicion. Ian shows up in Irons' study with the bloody handkerchief. Orlinsky and Burgess go to Talismania: Gabriel tries to shut the door on them and run, but they force their way in and beat him up. They break several items and Burgess callously makes a $20 bet with Orlinsky Gabriel would let them destroy the whole shop rather than give up Sara: but Orlinsky says the direct approach would work better, and they drag him away. Sara finds the shop destroyed, the blade flashes, she sees Burgess and Orlinsky. Danny is there, Sara asks if Gabriel is dead, Danny says, "Not yet, but hurry." Sara calls Jake, he's animated, he found Leeman Bostwick, a pseudo-grad student who was tutoring Kate in English Lit. She asks is Gabriel at the station, Jake says no, but he spies an emergency pow-wow in Dante's office. Sara asks for Leeman's number, she'll "deliver him tied up in a bow," but Jake has to save Gabriel. As she hangs up, Danny smiles at her, "He?ll never be me. But... he's improving."
