Thanks to Lark! Episode 6 ~ Maelstrom (continued) : After she has gone, Irons sends Ian out with the warning, "Don't come home without the blade."
Sara meets Orlinsky in a police locker, she recounts his visit with the hookers and Two-Faced Chezerey. He denies it, claims she is lying, she's crazy, and Sarah takes the film cartridge out of her pocket, musing, "You know what? I don't know whether I should call Internal Affairs or your wife". He caves, what does she want? Sara tells him she wants the key to the lockup, go to the men's room and "amuse yourself for 10 minutes", and when he gets back to his desk, the keys will be there: he does what she orders. In the locker, she finds a box with money. Danny is reflected in the glass, but without the Witchblade, Sara can't see him.
Fay admires her bracelet, and Sean approaches quietly, he says he would never have let her come if he had known her fiancé had died; she retorts that's why she didn't tell him, she didn't want to be kept from the trip. Sean is upset, and also bothered Fay may believe he was going to accept a ransom from Sara: he re-assures her, he will not, they will take the money and kill everyone. Fay is pleased.
Sara is packing - she has guns at her waist, up her sleeves, her hips, her belt, and knives: she is ready to kill.
Orlinsky walks into Dante's office: he tells Dante Sara has pictures of the payoff and the hooker. Dante is vexed, Sara is a detective, and a good one, if she's like her father, she won't give up until she gets to the bottom of it. He gets on the phone and ushers Orlinsky out of his office.
Sara brings the money from the lockup. Sean taunts her, why he should let her have Conchobar? Sara threatens if he doesn't let her have him, she'll kill everyone. Fay watches her while Sean counts the money, Sara scratches her neck unobtrusively and Fay cocks her automatic, while Sara is sardonic about her empty hand. Sean cautions her she's short cash and when Sara says it's just a few thousand, Sean tells her she's short two million - Sara took counterfeit money.
Sara looks frantically at a stoic Conchobar, and Ian suddenly speaks up, "Congratulations, Sara, it was a test." He tosses a bag of two million cash to one of the minions, Sara is unzipping her jacket while they are distracted by Nottingham, who is sarcastic about the cash, can the guy he gave the bag even count that high? A massive fight ensues, Ian unloading two magazines into anything that moves, while Sara tries to free Conchobar from Fay, who is guarding him. Sara aims to fight, but Fay has discovered what a cool toy Sarah gave her - the gauntlet has formed, and unlike Dominique's damaging experience of crushing her hand beyond repair, Fay is able to dodge bullets and fight like a Witchblade warrior. Sara tries to shoot Fay with every gun she's toting, but Fay puts them all off as her compatriots fall around her. Sean tries to shoot Ian, and in a neat move, Ian dodges the bullet before killing the leader. As Sara is running out of ammunition, Fay releases the blade, and gleefully hovers over Conchobar - then stabs him in the chest. Sara is enraged: she has one gun left, and Fay can't pull the blade out of Conchobar. Sara shrieks her rage as she empties the entire chamber into Fay.
Sara collapses beside Conchobar, and he breathes his last breath with a smile for her. Wrapping around him, she falls unconscious. Ian removes the bracelet from Fay's wrist, and stops - gently, he puts it on Sara's wrist. As he touches her, he picks up a drop of her fresh blood and tastes it; purposefully, he cuts his own finger, and touches Sara with it: a silent blood oath known only to him. He takes the bag of cash and leaves her alone. Jake comes in, he pulls a tearful Sara off her dead lover and drags her away before the scene can be discovered.
Ian tries to concoct a story to Irons, he returned without the blade because it had found it's way onto Lady Sara's wrist before he arrived, even unconscious, it was attached to her, he was unable to remove it. Irons takes the bag of money from him, it means nothing, he tosses it into the fire - and whacks Ian. He tells Nottingham he should have cut off Sara's hand. Nottingham responds that next time would. Gently, Irons smooths back Ian's hair behind his ear, and sends him off. He returns to the fire, his mouth twisting cynically as he watches the burning cash.
Thanks to Lark! Episode 7 ~ Periculum: Nottingham reports to Irons Sara has not left her loft in four days: she has not bathed, has not called anyone or eaten. The night before, Nottingham filled her kitchen with her favorite foods, but he does not know if she noticed or cared.
As he speaks, Sara wanders listlessly through her apartment. Nothing has been picked up from the fight, the only change is a copy of The Voice, bearing a picture of Conchobar with the headline, "Conchobar: Musical Martyr". She listens disinterestedly to the news that no suspects have been found in his murder.
Irons requests an appraisal, and Ian admits concern.
Sara is aimless, not even dressing or undressing completely, cradling Conchobar's guitar, remembering his kisses. She stares blankly at the phone as Jake calls and speaks to her answering machine trying to elicit a response.
