Q: Do you prefer television or film?
Jen: They're very different, television-you commit to for 8 months, but film you can do from 2-4 months and then go on and do something different, they're two totally different things. I'm glad I got into television though, because it taught me so much about the business, {and} it improved my acting skills and abilities, but now I'd like to move on to film.
Q: Is there a conscious cleavage requirement buy the show or do the actresses decide how much to show?
Jen: :O
Q: What's your favorite type of movie?
Jen: I like romantic comedies and action films, I can't stand horror movies.
Q: Does the cast have the same workout program this season?
Jen: No everybody kind of gets their own routine but because I'm the one in the least amount of clothing, I just have to stick to it.
Q: What kind of role would you really like to play?
Jen: I think the roles out there, the ones written for certain actors, like this one was definitely written for me, I can't see anyone else playing my character Veronica on the show. I'd love to do some comedy, I haven't had a whole lot of chance to do it and there's some fabulous actors out there I'd love to work with, its a hard question, it depends on what's thrown on your lap, what scripts they throw, the characters, {and} the stars attached. If I could write my own movies I would, not yet though.
Q: Do you find that attitude is prevalent around the set?
Jen: On our set, yes, completely, its one of the things that's kept the show going, no one has gotten a big head, we just really enjoy working together more than anything else we enjoy our characters and developing the characters together, {and} we enjoy the storylines the writer{s} give us.
Q: When the show breaks, do you look forward to resting or are there other job pursuits?
Jen: I'm resting right now, taking some time off.
Q: Do you have any hobbies?
Jen: Other than exercise, I enjoy writing every now, and then I'm an amateur photographer. I love animals I love traveling, I'm a Sagittarius, I hate being tied down to any one place for any amount of time. While I was in Australia, I got to go to Tasmania, beautiful, but a ghost town. Some of the best wine I've tasted in the world though.
Q: What was your first acting job?
Jen: A "Brachs" candy commercial when I was eight years old, I had two long pigtails and had to eat a piece of candy and pretend it was really good, I guess they bought it. That was a national commercial and the first thing I did.
Q: What feeling do you get when you see yourself on TV?
Jen: At first it was pretty neat, you go through stages. Then the second stage is your hand over your face "Oh My God." My acting got better and better so I feel much better about it those special effects running around with dinosaurs is really neat.
Q: How do you know where the dinosaur is when you "see" it?
Jen: The special effects guys give us an eyeline of where the dinosaur is supposed to be.
Q: Is there any particular direction you would like the show to go?
Jen: I think its improving, AND WILL ONLY GET BETTER NEXT YEAR, the effects get better with technology which makes it easier for our guys to digitally enhance bigger dinosaurs, the stunts, everything. Story line-I think if they keep a lot of the same characters and keep the relationships between the five of us strong instead of just trying to maintain some exciting storyline. People watch TV because they want to see the interaction, who killed who, who loves who, that kind of interest, they want to know who did what to who, and as long as they keep the love interest there and the love-hate it'll stay a winning show.
Q: Will Veronicas relationship with Malone go any further than it has?
Jen: I guess that's up to the writer{s} sadly I'm not one of them.
Q: Whats your favorite food and drink?
Jen: My big weakness is ice cream, its really sad because I'm lactose intolerant my favorite drink is Apple Martinis.
Q: Are they going to make a game of the show?
Jen: A CD-ROM type game of the show maybe, that would be great.
Q: Do you and Rachel Blakely (Marguerite Kux) get along well together off screen we know you're characters don't?
Jen: Oh we're the best of friends off screen, we get along fabulously, last year we didn't work together in hardly any episodes but this year we are in almost every one together.
Q: Who has been your biggest influence in your career?
Jen: I'd have to say me. I've always been very headstrong and independent, {and} always believed in myself, I've always known what I wanted to do with my life, I just kind of knew my fate, a lot of people know it but don't follow through with it they don't believe in themselves enough.
Q: Do scripts come only to you from your agent/manager?
Jen: No, I get scripts from friends, tons of friends are writers/publicists, but most come from my agent or manager. People will contact them with a proposition and then they give it to me to see if I like it or not?
Q: What is your favorite book?
Jen: I just read "Memoirs of a Geisha" I enjoyed it, I'm really not into story type books, I really like intellectual, scientific, or autobiographies. Right now I'm reading Christopher Reeve's autobiography.
Q: Do you have pets?
Jen: Yes, one pet, his name is Ciara a Persian [cat].
Q: What is your favorite animal?
Jen: One of these days when I move back here [USA] I believe she is referring to) I want a half lab half golden (retriever) and a pug(dogs).
Q: Who are your favorite singers and what kind of music are you into?
Jen:I love Dave Matthews, can't wait for the show at Dodgers Stadium. I'm really into acid jazz.
Q: Whats your greatest fear?
Jen: I did have a fear of falling which I got over during an episode of the show, I fell into a well and I had to free fall.
Q: Are you coming to the UK [United Kingdom]?
Jen: I don't have any idea, call New Line and ask them to send me.
Q: How do all those lost world cultures fit on one plateau?
Jen: You got me.
Q: What similarities does your character Veronica have that reflect your personal character?
Jen: There's always an underlying want to do good in someone else's life to make a good influence.
Q: Would you go on Howard Stern if you were invited?
Jen: No
Q: How tall are you?
Jen: 5''7.
Q: Are you a good swimmer?
Jen: Very good swimmer.
Q: Are there any plans for a Lost World movie?
Jen: Probably not, but I don't have any control over that.
Q: How many auditions did you go through to get the part?
Jen: Three auditions turned down for it, but they couldn't find the character so they showed it again and I auditioned this time with Malone(William DeVry) for the pilot I was there for about 2 or 3 hours and then they told me I was going, and leaving in a week.
Q: Are any members of the cast H. G. Wells fans?
Jen: I would say Challenger - Peter McCauley.
Q: Were you always planning on being an actress?
Jen: Yes.
Q: How is the best way to send fan mail to TLW actors/actresses?
Jen: The best way hmm, you can send it to my agent at KSA.
Q: Does this season have a major cliffhanger like last season?
Jen: Yes, and it's ten times better than last year.
Q: Do you have a lot of bloopers on your show?
Jen: Tons, we're constantly, as much as it rains, with all the dinosaurs, and plants and everything, we're constantly screwing things up.
Q: Are there plans to bring back Summerlee, say with an expedition to rescue everyone?
Jen: Who knows.
Q: You have a lot of discipline with your schedule and all, do you ever get frustrated?
Jen: Everyday, but I have to remember to breath.
Q: Do people send you letters and requests for an autograph, and do you write them back?
Jen: I try to write every one of them I get. Its a lot easier if you do send a SASE [self addressed stamped envelope] so I don't have to pull everything out of my own pocket for pictures and stamps; that's a lot of stamps.
Q: Do you follow fashion?
Jen: Not while in Australia, its extremely frustrating to have to come home and go shopping.
Q: What perfume do you wear?
Jen: I like Apple and Pear fragrances.
Q: What's the hardest part of working on this show?
Jen: When its cold, when I have to take off my jacket and do a scene in the cold. It takes an hour to get to location and back, those days are long.
Q: If you could trade parts with any member of the cast, which part would you choose, and why?
Jen: I wouldn't trade for anyone. I love my character.  I couldn't {do} justice to anyone else everyone does such a great job with their characters.
Q: What's it like living in Australia?
Jen: I'ts beautiful.  I'm right on the beach. We have beautiful topical thundershowers, but sometimes its annoying with ADR and looping [of the sound], it can make it really hard at times.  Sometimes though I wish I were here [USA] doing a show.
Q: Did you have the chance to attend the Olympics in Sydney [2000]?
Jen: No, we were working the entire time.
Q: You wore sandals in the first few episodes then you switched to boots. Did that have to do with the weather?
Jen: Yes, and it had a lot to do with my complaining.  I was getting cut up all the time, {and} my toes were frozen.
Q: What are your next plans?
Jen: To take some time off, read some scripts, do a film while on hiatus, before I go back next year.
