AFI Associates To Honor Hollywood’s Arquette Family With Sixth Annual ‘Platinum Circle Award’

The Arquette Family will be the recipients of the sixth AFI Associates Platinum Circle Award, given annually to honor a family whose creative contributions have significantly enhanced the entertainment community. Clifford, Lewis, Rosanna, Richmond, Patricia, Alexis, and David Arquette along with family members Courtney Cox Arquette and Thomas Jane will be honored on Wednesday, May 10, at a luncheon at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Posthumous tributes to Clifford and Lewis will be presented.

“The nine members of this true Hollywood family have made extraordinary contributions to the art of film and television. We are proud to honor them for their combined achievements and the body of work that their family has created,” stated Carole Mitchell, President, AFI Associates.

The AFI Associates was formed in 1984 and for over twenty years has provided support to the American Film Institute and its programs. The AFI Associates have developed interesting and exciting events that provide community outreach and financial support for AFI, including the International Film Series, the Classic American Film Series and an Annual Premiere. This year’s Committee co-chairs are Elaine Abramson and Cathleen Leslie of the AFI Associates. The Honorary Event co-chairs are Jennifer Aniston, Jane Fonda, Lawrence Kasdan, Lisa Kudrow and Martin Scorsese.

Previous honorees of the AFI Associates Platinum Circle Award include members of the Penn family (Leo Penn, Eileen Ryan Penn, Michael Penn and Aimee Mann, Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn and Chris Penn); the Fonda family (Henry Fonda, Jane Fonda, Peter Fonda, Troy Garity and Bridget Fonda); Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher and Todd Fisher; and Walter, Carol and Charles Matthau.
