Ex-Creek Resident Smith Investigates Charmed
Former Dawson's Creek co-star Kerr Smith will make his way back to The WB this fall.
Smith has taken a recurring role on the network's long-running drama Charmed, which opens its seventh season Sunday, Sept. 12. He'll play a federal agent who comes into contact with the Halliwell sisters, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
His character will be a member of the Dark Operatives Unit, a government group that investigates supernatural events. The character is a believer, a la The X-Files' Mulder, and may also become a love interest for Paige ... (Rose McGowan).
Smith is the second familiar name to come aboard the show for the coming season. Pop singer and Newlyweds star Nick Lachey has also joined the cast, playing a writer who takes over Phoebe's (Alyssa Milano) advice column when she takes some time off and also starts a romance with her.
In addition to Dawson's Creek, Smith's credits include "Final Destination," "The Broken Hearts Club" and "The Forsaken." He starred in a pilot for UPN called Silver Lake this spring that was not picked up.
