Shannen Doherty's Smash Hit
Shannen Doherty's not-so-charmed life has hit another bump in the road. The erstwhile Beverly Hills, 90210 star was involved in a car crash in Malibu on Monday that resulted in another driver being taken to the hospital by ambulance and leaving her with cuts and bruises, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Doherty was reportedly behind the wheel of her Range Rover when she made a left-hand turn onto the Pacific Coast Highway and collided with a Mustang. The driver of the other car was taken by ambulance to the hospital. A relative told TMZ.com that he was recuperating at home and that his car was totaled.

Doherty, who complained of pain at the scene of the accident, was examined in the emergency room for bruises and a cut thigh, her rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, told the Associated Press. "She went in a private car to Cedars-Sinai [Medical Center]. She refused to go in an ambulance. She was examined in the emergency room for thigh bruises and cuts," Zelnik said.

On Tuesday, Doherty was resting comfortably at home, Zelnik said. "She's in pain a little bit," Zelnik said. "Her left side is a little messed up, to use her words."

Though investigators listed Doherty as "the party most at fault" in the accident, no citations were issued. Both she and the other driver were interviewed about the cause of the crash, which remains under investigation.

It's not the first time the former
Charmed star has displayed poor motoring skills. In December 2000, she was busted for drunk driving after police witnessed her pickup truck weaving across a Los Angeles freeway in the wee hours of the morning. Doherty initially pleaded innocent to the DUI charge, but later changed her plea to no contest. She avoided jail, but was ordered to perform community service, which she fulfilled in part by delivering lectures at teen centers and meetings for Mothers Against Drunk Driving. She also served five days in a work release program.

After leaving
Charmed in 2001, amid reports of tension with costar Alyssa Milano, Doherty went on to star in the steamy primetime soap North Shore. The Fox series, which centered on the inner workings of an exclusive Hawaiian beach resort, was canceled last year after one season.

In February 2002, Doherty swapped vows with producer Rick Salomon after a whirlwind romance lasting all of a month or two. The couple's tumultuous union suffered a blow after Salomon rose to infamy as the costar of Paris Hilton's sex tape. Though Doherty and Salomon briefly reconciled in 2004, they are reportedly no longer together.
