McGowan To Topline Terror - Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez and Josh Brolin will star in Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror, a 60-minute zombie movie to be accompanied by a slasher film directed by Quentin Tarantino and released under the title Grind House by Dimension Films, Variety reported.
Dimension will premiere Grind House, a tribute to the '70s exploitation films that influenced both directors, on Easter weekend next year.
Casting hasn't been announced for Tarantino's Death Proof, which also will run about 60 minutes.
Marley Shelton, Michael Biehn, Jeff Fahey, Michael Parks and the Black Eyed Peas' Stacy Ferguson also star in Planet. The two pics will be surrounded by faux trailers created by Tarantino and Rodriguez.

Charmed - The witches return, but not in May - The rumored May release of Charmed season 2 is quickly approaching, and we've received a number of panicked emails from fans of the show asking us whether it's still coming out then. The answer is no, but don't panic, the set is coming. Apparently they couldn't get the masters ready for the previously planned May release, and they've set an August target for the next set. We're also told that Paramount is very happy with the sales of season 1, so the show isn't being delayed based on poor sales (so no need to panic). We can probably expect the August announcement to come sometime in May. We'll keep you updated with any information we can dig up before then.

Ausiello: Well, you already heard from WB president David Janollari on this subject [see the "A Little Charmed" item below], so let's check in with exec producer Brad Kern. "We've been doing everything we can to give this current season a special feel because, for all we know, it's the last. We don't have any indication from the network when they're going to tell us [their decision], so my attitude has been, 'Well, we'll shoot with both barrels and give the audience everything we can.' And that'll do one of two things: help make the seventh season memorable for the fans, or spur the network to give us one final year." My gut's telling me the Charmed Ones will be looking for work next fall."

"And not only that, the producers and the girls on the show were always so sweet to me and just very supportive. They really gave me the reins to do whatever I wanted in regard to that role. So, for me to go back is not just me helping them out, it's an honor for what I feel for those guys." Dude's a class act."

Celebs do it up for mag's 'Don't' party...The stars gave their stylists the night off Wednesday [April 7], opting instead for Uggs, sandals with socks and Von Dutch caps, at Glamour magazine's fourth annual fashion "Don't" party, where everything "out" was in for one night only. ... A faux Mystic-tanned Rose McGowan, wearing a pink prom dress she picked up two days earlier on Melrose, was one of several celebs who stopped to design brassieres that will be auctioned off for women's heart disease. McGowan and her Charmed sisters, Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs, will become Stepford Wives in their tragic season finale, which will see one of their male cast members die.

A 'Charmed' Life for the WB...Aaron Spelling's drama Charmed continues to cast a spell over the WB. The network has picked up the veteran series for the 2004-05 season, which will be the show's seventh. Charmed, which has survived several scheduling changes and the replacement of Shannen Doherty with Rose McGowan, has become a solid anchor for the WB on Sunday, averaging 5.3 million viewers in its most recent airing. Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs also star.

What Holly did on her summer vacation...Former Angel leading lady Charisma Carpenter is hooking up with Joe Millionaire's Evan Marriott — well, sort of. Marriott will play one of several single guys courting Carpenter's title character in the upcoming ABC Family telepic "See Jane Date". Among her other suitors: Antonio Sabato Jr., Zachary Levi (Less Than Perfect) and Geoff Stults (7th Heaven). The comedy — which co-stars Charmed sorceress Holly Marie Combs — starts filming Friday in Montreal.

Benatar, Geraldo: 'Charmed' they're sure...Rocker Pat Benatar and her husband, Neil Geraldo, will guest star on the April 6 episode of Charmed, playing themselves and singing one of Benatar's biggest hits, "Heartbreaker." The episode revolves around luck, or the [Charmed Ones] perceived lack of it. But that all changes when Benatar's car breaks down - and she and Geraldo come knocking at their door, asking to use the phone and promising the girls they'll do them a huge favor in return (guess what that is?).

Milano Is 'Dickie' Cookie...Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano will play David Spade's love interest in "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star," a comedy executive-produced by Adam Sandler. The Paramount Pictures project concerns a former kid star (Spade), washed up in his 30s, who hires a foster family to re-create the childhood he never had. Milano will play his on-again/off-again girlfriend. Sam Weisman ("What's The Worst That Could Happen?") is directing from a script by Spade and Fred Wolf. Milano will work concurrently on the film -- her first studio feature role since "Fear" in 1996 -- and the WB's Charmed, which kicked off production on a fifth season last week.
