Lorne, aka The Host, is an anagogic, defined as one who has a spiritual or mystical sense ~ he can reads various beings’ thoughts, feelings and futures while they sing.  For years, he was able to do this while patrons sang karaoke at his nightblub, Caritas. Caritas was a sanctuary for most beings, as demons and other non-humans couldn't commit violence there, the result of an enchantment the Host requested of a trio of Furies. Lorne came from another dimension that, sadly, had no music and very little color. Basically, hell for him. His name in the other dimension is Krevlornswath of the Deathwok Clan, but he prefers Lorne. Caritas was destroyed, and Lorne is hangin' with the crowd at Angel Investigations.  Lorne became a series regular in season four.  Lorne survived the final battle, but walked away, after fulfilling his last duty task ~ shooting and killing
Lindsay.

Andy Hallett's introduction to acting was on Angel. He had worked at a number of odd jobs in L.A. when Angel/Buffy series creator Joss Whedon saw Andy perform in a Universal City blues review. He started singing after Patti LaBelle brought him onstage during one of her concerts. Andy can also be seen in independent film "Chance" co-starring fellow Joss Whedon recruits Amber Benson (Tara from Buffy) and James Marsters (Spike from Buffy and Angel).
