Mahershalalhashbaz Ali is Richard Tyler

Mahershalalhashbaz Ali was born Mahershalalhashbaz Gilmore on February 16 in Oakland, California.  Mahershalalhashbaz was introduced to acting during his junior year at St. Mary's College in Moraga, California, and made his professional stage debut performing for a season with the California Shakespeare Festival shortly after graduation.  He was accepted to New York University, where he received a Masters degree in acting. Ali's first television role was as on NBC's Crossing Jordan, then he was cast as a series regular on the ABC drama Threat Matrix. Mahershalalhashbaz' other television credits include appearances on NYPD Blue, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, UPN's Haunted, and The Handler, with Joe Pantoliano.
