The 'future people' had her create a reality for herself, Tom and everyone else, in order to insert her into his life, because he'll need support during the difficult times ahead; Tom, Alana, and apparently Kyle, are the only ones that seem to know that whole story..  Alana is an art gallery owner, and travels often for her work.  Character/cast page

Linda Baldwin || Portrayed by Lori Triolo || Guest star, episode 9 || Tom's ex, Kyle's mom

April Skouris || Portrayed by Natasha Gregson Wagner || Recurring role || Diana Skouris 'black sheep' tatoo-artist sister.  She and Diana have apparently been somewhat 'estranged' for some time, when April shows up on the doorstep.  They sign something of a truce, and Maia and Auntie April get to know each other pretty well.  April is fun, and Maia has fun with her [except for the whole hotdog thing that got Maia sick to her stomach, and we won't go there...].  Eventually, April, fully aware of her new niece's ability, starting betting, winning a bit.  She finds Maia has been playing with her and Diana's mother's wedding ring, a pretty thing, probably quite valuable, that April thought she would've gotten on her own wedding day.  She confiscates it...and then pawns it, using the proceeds to bet and lose.  Maia had basically tested April, upset at the possiblity her new hero might be using her ~ and April failed.  April, actually pretty upset and miserable herself, because she really does seem to care about Maia, kicks herself for what she did, and tells Diana all.   Diana is in full mommy mode, and this it too much.  She kicks her sister out.  Diana shows there is hope for their relationship, by buying the ring back, and presenting to April, while she waits for a bus out of town.
