Alien abduction. Many people hear those two words together, and think of neurotic 'nutcases' with aluminum foil wrapped around their heads or [gulp] probes in places most people would really prefer not to be probed. Since you may be a sci fi fan, you may think of The X-Files and Mulder's search for his sister, or the recent Sci Fi Channel's mini-series Taken. If you're like me, you probably thought The 4400 was about alien abductions; of course we discovered that the mysterious beings that stole the 4400 away from Earth were human beings from the future, attempting to change their present by abducting key people from the past. Or did we? Is it possible that Kyle, as the conduit speaking for those mysterious people, might have been, well, lying through his teeth? Either scenario -- that humans from the future, in an attempt to save the human race, decided to time travel in order to change their present, OR that aliens actually abducted the 4400 for their own purposes, and, contrary to Kyle's statements, Tom -and we- haven't actually learned the truth -- is possible. Alien Abduction
Have humans been abducted and examined by aliens from other planets? Many people believe so, and literally thousands have put their own stories out for public consumption, not only just of seeing UFO's, but of having been taken away in them.
Unidentified flying objects ---UFO's--- have been seen in our skies as long as we have recorded history. For example, look at the tapestry in the first picture to the right, which is from Bruges, Belgium, and dated 1538. I've enlarged the flying saucer-like objects that are clearly visible in the sky at the top of the tapestry in the picture below. Imagine, this artwork was created hundreds of years ago, but in fact, there are actually rock carvings, thousands of years old, which depict objects looking remarkably like the space ships we're familiar with from amatuer photos, as well as 'grays' and other odd, non-human appearing beings. In 'modern' times, we've been inundated with UFO and abuction stories, both those presented as true stories and those in entertainment-film, television, books.
